Vintage 1960s Jacques Tiffeau for Gossard Maxi-Dress sz 4/6
Aqua green bodice, brown body with a hot pink bow, this maxi-dress has an 18" slit in front. In excellent condition.
Tiffeau was an assistant to Dior from 1945-1950 before moving to New York and starting his own line. In the 70s, he was the supervisor for Rive Gauche Collections from YSL. In the 60s, Diana Vreeland declared "He is in tune!". She was referring to a Tiffeau collection comprised of simple, nonchalant, elegant dresses and daytime suits, most without bust-darts or extraneous frills, many cut on the bias.
